Animal Wisdom Speaks - Month of the Shima Enaga
|
The beautiful and magical realms of Winter are the playground and learning grounds of the Shima Enaga. When temperatures plummet and resources become scarce, it takes a deep breath, gently breathes on the ember it is carrying in its heart and nourishes and nurtures the fire within, so it grows bigger, warming and caressing its soul.
Its looks change significantly, from petit to fluffed up and snowball-like, not considered an acrobat in the air by its looks anymore, but now rather underestimated in its abilities. The Shima Enaga, the Japanese long-tailed tit, is a petit bird thriving during the harshest times of winter. When resources are barren and hard to come by, the Shima Enaga keeps singing its song merrily, while playing in the snow, its feathers fluffed up, being warmed by the eternal flame burning in its heart. Instead of trying to fit in, it takes up space and shows presence, the air between its fluffed-up feathers and plumage insulating it, a cozy layer of breath and self-confidence warming it, preserving its body heat, energy and being. |
The Shima Enaga is a mentor and guide that knows about how to talk to yourself and what your words, your breath and the stories you dream and speak into being are able to do, like turning a freezing cold environment and climate into a playground, on which you can hone your skills and abilities and are safe within yourself, simply by finding the joy again in what you are doing.
